Job Description Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced Cost Engineer with a strong cost background to work in a client facing role with one of our high-profile Mining & Metals clients. The role is to provide Cost Engineering services across multiple projects as part of the client’s shared service team, with a specific focus on analyzing cost data in order to identify project risks and opportunities, this role will positively influence the outcome of our clients’ projects/events. Key Elements: Utilize the client’s standard tools and processes as appropriate for each project’s life cycle development and execution phase, maintaining consistency in cost. bases through rigorous adherence to the controls processes. Create accurate monthly cost reports, identifying variance from the plan on commitment, value of work done, changes etc. Provide project management support in the development of cost breakdown structures, work breakdown structures and documenting cost, time and resource sheets. Implement the change management process for projects, providing guidance on trend analysis and the assessment of change impacts on cost. Maintain and promote realism in the cost forecasts in the face of commercial pressure and optimism from project teams. Qualifications A minimum of 3-5 years industry experience in project controls/cost engineer positions. Experience in managing large/small projects. Experience with Ecosys and Power BI, preferable. Fully versed in cost control principles and techniques. Turnaround experience a plus. Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills. Self-starter with a client centered focus. Conduct re-monitoring inspection of leaks repaired by maintenance personnel as requested. •May include daily upload of monitoring activity to the customer database and completing or reviewing daily emissions monitoring reports- must have basic computer knowledge. •Will be able to review work of others, identify gaps. Ability to perform LDAR Audits. •Support the re-monitoring of components when the test instrument fails calibration Drift Check. •Communicating/coordinating with all levels of plant personnel. •Progressive ability to read and understand P&IDs.
