Description MISSION To assist in the production of the industry’s highest-quality retreads by performing specific retreading job assignments per company specifications, standards, and time frames. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Retread: Inspect tires to be retreaded or repaired to determine condition, repairs needed, etc. Operate a buffing machine to remove treads from tires to be retreaded, following specifications for depth and width of removal. Measure diameter and cross section to determine correct tread width. Apply rubber cement to tire casing and select proper size tread rubber, applying it to the tire. Place proper curing tube in tire and insert proper rim for curing. Place tire in chamber and program correct curing temperature according to specification. Set timer for proper curing time, make a record of each tire, showing size & curing time. Remove finished retread from curing chamber and rim and curing bag from finished retreads. Inspect tires to determine defects in curing, i.e., soft cures, ply separation, repairs missed, etc. Check finished tire with work order for proper identification and completion of work required. Trim and paint finished retreads. Repair: Inspect tires to determine type of repair required, indicate repairs and mark, "repair only". Skive out and buff injury inside and out for proper size repair. Apply proper cement to inside injury and build up repair using correct size repair patch. Cover outside injury with layer of cushion gum and fill with tread gum. Make final inspection of repair, cut tread design with regrooving iron, paint tire, tags, and place with finished stock. Inspect repairs and lubricate equipment, following manufacturers' instructions to maintain in good operating condition. Other: Maintain standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of plant. Sweep floors and walls as necessary. Receive, unload and store in designated places: tread rubber, repair material, curing bags, etc. Maintain a stock of tread rubber and repair materials, advising management when replenishment is necessary. Job Description Job Description Field Utility Inspector Responsibilities: Daily inspections of utility poles consist of constantly moving from pole to pole through and across various terrains. This includes rural and metro areas throughout the state of Missouri and Illinois. Inspectors are expected to collect data on a handheld device provided by the customer to capture various problems associated with utility poles and upload data daily. They are expected to communicate with the local residents to explain the function of the task and gain access to the poles to be inspected. Expectations: Inspectors are required to work outside in all types of weather conditions that include extreme heat in the summer and cold weather in the winter as long as conditions are not hazardous to the employee. Candidates must have the ability to kneel, crouch, and bend at the base of a utility pole during inspections. Candidates will be walking some long distances and are recommended to be able to walk 5-10 miles per day. Some positions will require the use of tools that weigh up to 30lbs. Driving is a requirement and candidates will be required to have a valid driver's license and may be asked to procure a class "E' Chauffeurs license to operate a company vehicle. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to operate a vehicle in a safe manner and be capable of reading and using maps. Candidates may be required to drive long or short distances in various conditions on a daily basis. Travel will be required for 3 nights per week for local candidates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Retread: Inspect tires to be retreaded or repaired to determine condition, repairs needed, etc. Operate a buffing machine to remove treads from tires to be retreaded, following specifications for depth and width of removal Measure diameter and cross section to determine correct tread width Apply rubber cement to tire casing and select proper size tread rubber, applying it to the tire Place proper curing tube in tire and insert proper rim for curing Place tire in chamber and program correct curing temperature according to specification Set timer for proper curing time, make a record of each tire, showing size & curing time Remove finished retread from curing chamber and rim and curing bag from finished retreads Inspect tires to determine defects in curing, i.e. soft cures, ply separation, repairs missed, etc. Check finished tire with work order for proper identification and completion of work required Trim and paint finished retreads Repair: Inspect tires to determine type of repair required, indicate repairs and mark, "repair only" Skive out and buff injury inside and out for proper size repair Apply proper cement to inside injury and build up repair using correct size repair patch Cover outside injury with layer of cushion gum and fill with tread gum Make final inspection of repair, cut tread design with regrooving iron, paint tire, tags, and place with finished stock Inspect repairs and lubricate equipment, following manufacturers' instructions to maintain in good operating condition Other: Maintain standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of plant. Sweep floors and walls as necessary.
