Overview The Spa Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and operation of the spa’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including pools, jacuzzis, gym equipment, showers, and HVAC. This role ensures that all equipment and facilities remain safe, clean, and in excellent working condition for our guests. Responsibilities Monitor, maintain, and repair spa facilities including pool systems, jacuzzis, sauna/steam rooms, showers, and gym equipment. Oversee pool water treatment, chemical balance, and filtration systems in compliance with health and safety standards. Conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections of all equipment and mechanical systems. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently. Collaborate with the housekeeping and spa teams to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests. Maintain detailed maintenance logs and safety compliance records. Support capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades as needed. Ensure that the physical condition of the property is maintained according to company operating and safety standards. Organize and prioritize service requests and general maintenance tasks. Ensure that all service orders are properly documented in accordance with the company’s service order procedures. Must be knowledgeable of inventory levels of spare parts and supplies and inform supervisor of shortages. Maintain the Spa swimming pools, including: Regularly testing swimming pool water quality and pH balance Treating swimming pool water to maintain proper chemical balance Ensuring the swimming pool is clean and performing scheduled cleaning duties Maintenance as required May be required to obtain CPO certification Adhere to the company's safety programs, policies and procedures. Participate in company training classes, as required. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Capability to operate a variety of equipment relative to this position, including trucks, power tools, ladders, and other tools, with safety considerations. Safety equipment and apparel must be worn as required. Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills Language: Ability to read and write at the 12th grade level and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers. Mathematical: Basic understanding of algebra and geometry at a 12th grade level. Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense to carry out multistep instructions and determine root causes for prevention and repair. Other Qualifications Previous experience as an Engineer, Maintenance Technician, or Facilities Specialist in hospitality, spa, or fitness environments preferred. Knowledge of pool and jacuzzi systems, pumps, boilers, and water treatment required. Strong electrical, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Certification in pool operations (CPO) a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or evenings as needed. Equipment: Position may require the individual to furnish their own vehicle when needed for transportation for shift and call-in work. Strong customer service orientation, good verbal and written communication skills, and good organizational skills. Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license and present it for verification to HR. Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as directed. Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher and in all inclement weather conditions. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions. The employee must be able to work a 40-hour week and traverse uneven terrain, operate tools, and lift up to 80 lbs as required. Work Environment The work environment may include fumes or airborne particles, wet and humid conditions, moving parts, chemicals, extreme weather, and high or precarious places. The wage for this position is $24.00-$26.00/hr DOE.
