OVERVIEW Stationary Engineers will be responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and cleaning associated with the operation of a large industrial utilities' facility providing Steam, Heat Hot Water, Chilled water, and other services to an educational facility. Under general supervision, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide variety of pumping, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and auxiliary plant machinery and equipment in a large complex or multi-faceted facility. Ensures that all equipment, machinery and systems are functioning normally and safely and complies with all applicable safety rules and regulations. HOURS 1st Shift - This role requires availability after-hours, weekends and holidays as needed for emergency services and/or on-call rotation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintenance and operation of the following utilities systems: Perform work within structured safety, maintenance, and operating procedures. Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance as required. Perform routine equipment cleaning and general housekeeping duties. Operation of systems and equipment in a control room environment. Assist in the diagnosis and resolution of problems which affect the operation of the facility and/or impact environmental compliance. Collect data, maintain records, and provide comprehensive logbook entries. Completing work assignments with limited supervision, thoroughly and efficiently. Occasionally assist contractors and ensure contracted services are being performed safely and in accordance with established work standards and practices. Maintain good tenant relations through prompt and courteous response to tenant requests within the guidelines set forth by JLL. COMPETENCIES Hot Water Loop Heat Exchangers and Pumps 35*F YK Chiller Units with primary and secondary pumps Various related systems and support equipment. Experienced with various types of hand tools and use of diagnostic equipment. Physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools and lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Able to work in close spaces such as closets, crawl space and able to work on roofs of buildings. Ability to diagnose problems, make sound decisions, prioritize, schedule and complete multiple tasks. Proficient computer skills including e-mail, and word. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school degree or equivalent. 5 years of experience in related utilities systems maintenance and operation. Formal education and training in energy operations, equipment maintenance and repair, or instrumentation and controls, preferred. CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES Boiler operator license grade 2 from a municipality or recognized professional institution, preferred. Universal Refrigerant Management certification, preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Solid basic mechanical and electrical maintenance/repair skills. Working knowledge of HVAC systems. Broad and general knowledge of utility system maintenance and operation practices. Position Information Position Title Administrative Assistant Status Full Time Job Summary The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the main office of the Tuskegee University Public Safety Department (TUPSD). This position will perform a variety of complex administrative, technical, and secretarial duties in support of the Chief of Police for the Public Safety Department; exercises initiative, judgment, and tact in responding to and dealing with other law enforcement agencies, members of the community and university officials. Essential Job Duties Perform complex administrative, technical and secretarial functions for the Chief of Police. Initiate and respond to correspondence, which may involve composition, or may entail knowledge of specialized and technical subject matter. Proofread and or finalize letters, memoranda, reports, or other documents for approval and or signature. Schedule appointments, meeting and conferences and make travel and training arrangements. Attend meetings, record proceedings, and prepare summaries or minutes, when required. (25%) Manage administrative and fiscal operations of the department relative to personnel, purchasing and budget. Serve as liaison between the TUPSD and other departments/units, state agencies, vendors, and outside groups and organizations on administrative and fiscal matters. (25%) Serves as TUPSD university assessment coordinator, human resources liaison, custodian of departmental mutual-aid agreements and records unique to law enforcement per state and accreditation standards, and performing all the administrative functions for the entire department. (20%) Assist in the preparation of the department budget. Process and maintain a variety of fiscal reports and records and monitor expenditure against budget allocations. Maintain supplies and prepare purchase requisitions. compliance and/or assistance with the UCR semiannual report and the annual Clery report. (15%) Establish and maintain comprehensive records systems, and develop reports based upon data provided by such systems. Maintain department administrative filing systems. (10%) Respond to phone, mail, e-mail and in-person inquiries and requests from the general public and University staff.
