What You’ll Be Doing Work independently on routine tasks and accept directions on given assignments. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and machine servicing. Utilize a solid working knowledge of general safety practices, along with the ability to recognize safety concerns and successfully take the initiative to modify/fix appropriately without direction. Understand basic hydraulic and electrical systems along with safety practices. Follow standardized preventative maintenance plans on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual schedule with attention to detail. Prioritize and address maintenance issues as they arise; clearly and accurately complete required documentation for each assignment. Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and perform routinely scheduled maintenance during machine service. Resolve auxiliary equipment issues. Provide appropriate support (as necessary) to Material Handling / Receiving crews. Other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required. Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment. Minimum of 6 months’ work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment is required. Applicable military experience will be considered. Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment test to be eligible for employment. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required. Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English is required. Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills is required. Lockout / Tagout experience is required. Ability to work overtime as needed is required. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. General Information The supervisor makes assignments in terms of shifts to be worked and the general scope of the work assignment. Other Requirements The work requires the incumbent to operate emergency medical vehicles, move medical equipment and extract injured persons from a wide variety of situations. Situation can involve vehicular, industrial and residential accidents, injuries or illness and occur anywhere in our coverage area. At times the work requires movement over various types of terrain, (hilly, steep, rocky, rough, and/or wet/slippery surfaces). The incumbent at all times must be able to carry or help carry someone from the site of the injury to the mode of transportation (vehicle/helicopter) and attend the injured party to the hospital. In order to perform a physical assessment of the injured party, the incumbent must see, hear, and communicate with the injured party. Incumbents will be issued and must wear Company issued uniforms while on duty; additionally, incumbents will be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of uniform s, as well as all issued equipment. Incumbents are required to carry a Company issued pager/radio at all times in order to receive immediate notification of an assignment.
