Hiring Range: $62.23-$73.05 We are excited to announce the opening of a new Physician Assistant (PA) position working with our expanding Neurosurgical team. In this role, a highly skilled, motivated, and compassionate PA will have the opportunity to work within inpatient, operative, and ambulatory settings, providing comprehensive care to our neurosurgery patients throughout their surgical journey. The ideal candidate will be an adaptable and detail-oriented clinician with a passion for surgical care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high acuity environment. The opportunity to work across diverse clinical areas within neurosurgery, managing patients throughout the entire continuum of surgical care. Gain hands-on operative and procedural experience with neurosurgical patients. Stay current with advances in neurosurgery at an academic medical center through continuing education, professional conferences, and literature review Be part of a supportive culture where PAs are integral to the team, not just an afterthought, with mentorship, learning, and leadership opportunities Responsibilities: Serve as first assist in the operating room for a broad spectrum of neurosurgical cases. Perform daily rounds and consults on neurosurgical inpatients, assessing clinical progress, implementing treatment plans, and monitoring potential post-operative complications Order, interpret, and integrate diagnostic studies including imaging, labs, and neurophysiologic monitoring results. Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans in collaboration with members of the neurosurgical team Collaborate to optimize perioperative protocols, ensuring safe patient preparation, accurate surgical site verification, and comprehensive postoperative handoff. Educate patients and their family members on diagnoses, treatment options, potential side effects, and symptom management strategies while focused on treating each patient as a whole and individual person Shift/Status: Flexible shifts. Primarily schedule: 4 days/week (10-hour shifts). This position will be located in Suffern, NY and Middletown, NY. Qualifications / Requirements: Board certified Physician Assistant who possesses, or is eligible to obtain, an applicable NYS license, and has an active DEA Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of surgical experience as a practicing clinical PA, although highly motivated new graduates will also be considered and are encouraged to apply. Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Active BLS
