Location and Schedule Geisinger Lewistown Hospital (GLH), Lewistown, Pennsylvania – Days shift – 40 weekly hours – Regular, exempt position.Job Summary The Orthopaedic Spine Surgery team seeks an advanced practice provider to provide patient care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary staff.Responsibilities Assesses and establishes a presumptive diagnosis for patients and implements treatment plans.Orders, interprets, and follows up on diagnostic testing; prescribes and adjusts medications and therapies.Communicates with collaborative physicians, patients, primary care providers, and referring staff via telephone or correspondence.Performs procedures within the scope of the Physician Assistant license.Documents patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record.Provides patient education, triage, and telephone communication as needed.Reports significant findings or risks to the collaborating physician.Adheres to institutional policies and procedural guidelines.Qualifications Education: Master’s Degree – Nurse Practitioner (Required); Bachelor’s Degree – Physician Assistant (Required); Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant (Preferred).Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) – Certified Physician Assistant.Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) – Current.Experience: Clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in an advanced practice setting.Skills: Ability to evaluate patients of all ages, effective communication, proficiency with electronic medical records, and evidence-based practice.EEO Statement Geisinger is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer.
