Position Specific Description The Production Technician I at Genesis Solar Plant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the solar power generation facility. This position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting complex equipment, monitoring plant operations, and executing procedures to maximize electricity production and safety. Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain solar power generation equipment, including photovoltaic panels, inverters, transformers, and related components. Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting activities on solar power plant systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and controls systems to minimize downtime and maximize electricity production. Conduct routine performance tests and calibrations of plant equipment, documenting results and implementing necessary adjustments. Monitor plant operations through various control systems, identifying and addressing deviations from established parameters. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system improvements, upgrades, and modifications to optimize solar power plant efficiency. Follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe work environment. Comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies, reporting any incidents or hazards promptly. Provide support during plant outages or emergencies, participating in activities such as equipment startups, shutdowns, and switching operations. Record and maintain accurate plant operation logs, maintenance records, and other required documentation. Overview of Department The Operations Team is currently composed of eleven team members in Operations, Compliance, and Asset Management roles. Our Operations department ensures that our renewable energy assets are operated to the highest standards and is responsible for project operations, asset management, operational compliance and operational technology, as well as supporting the rest of the company in the delivery of future portfolios of projects. The Sr. PGD Engineer shall be responsible for reliability monitoring, evaluation, and issue resolution of large scale solar facilities located in Southern California. This position will report The Genesis Solar Plant Manager, under the Power Generation Team, and will work out of the Genesis facility located in Blythe Ca. The position will require travel to other locations within the region as needed for assistance at other facilities. This individual is responsible for Power Plant reliability and ensures the equipment onsite operates in a safe, environmentally compliant, and reliable manner.
