Your work ensure our residents receive the high standard of food quality they have grown to expect at Westview Care Center by preparing and ensuring residents receive the appropriate food items for each meal in accordance to their dietary needs, ensuring the safety of food and equipment by recording temperatures, and following recipes for preparing large volumes of food. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive a pleasant and safe dining experience. To be eligible for consideration applicants should have: As a minimum, a tenth (10th) grade education. Prior Skilled Nursing Foodservice experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate! RESPONSIBILITIES: The food service worker performs a variety of tasks in preparing, transporting, and serving food to patients, staff, and visitors. Follows established recipes to prepare menu items. Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner. Follows guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control. Adheres to food safety standards at all times and assists with cleaning. Also fills in as dietary aide and baker as needed. HOURS: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period. Hours primarily are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with at least one 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM shift in a two-week period. Every other weekend & holiday rotation as scheduled. QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous experiences in food service desirable. Will need to do a Servsafe Food Handler Online Course and Assessment if not done so previously or if certificate has expired. This would be arranged and paid for by the hospital.
