Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPharmacy TechnicianJob SummaryPrepares medications under the direction of a pharmacist and assists with related job duties.We are currently hiring a full-time technician who will work between all of our stores which are located at:100 N 8th Street East St. Louis, IL1833 Kingshighway Washington Park, IL2166 Madison Ave Granite City, IL6000 Bond Cahokia Heights, IL*We are also planning to open a Belleville, IL location in 2025General AccountabilitiesReceives and verifies written prescriptions or refill requests for accuracy.Mixes pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions.Maintains proper storage and ensures necessary security of drugs.Establishes and maintains patient profiles.Answers telephones to discuss or answer patient requests or questions.Assists patients at the pharmacy by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.Prices and then files prescriptions that have been filled.Receives and stores incoming drug or other related pharmacy supplies.Verifies invoices and physical quantities received of incoming items.Monitors medications in the pharmaceutical inventory to keep in stock medications current and disposes of outdated medications.Works with wholesaler to keep medications in stock to acceptable levels.*The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.Job QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalentExperience: 1-2 years of related experience, 2+ years of customer serviceCertification: Certified Pharmacy Technician a plusSkillsExcellent verbal and written communicationCritical thinkingCustomer ServiceTime managementCompany DescriptionMedicate Pharmacy opened in 1985 and has expanded numerous times since.
