Kentland DC #951 103 E Bailie St Kentland, IN 47951, USA Distribution Center Assistant Managers are responsible to assist the DC Manager staff, organize, and direct operations within the Distribution Center to effectively manage the receipt, storage, selection, packaging, loading, and shipping of products to the retail store locations. Under the direction of the DC Manager, the Assistant Manager assists in the following tasks: Responsible for the receiving, storage, splitting, picking, and shipping operations of the D.C. Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials. Recommends D.C. and material handling needs and replacement to the DC Manager. Responsible for enforcing Company policies of conduct and safety and initiates corrective action where necessary. Develops and maintains relationships with carriers and vendors to assure quality carrier service that delivers products to the stores in an effective, efficient, and economical manner. Manages the overall security and loss prevention processes at the D.C. Identifies the causes of product losses and takes appropriate corrective action. Responsible for the overall safety of the D.C. facility and staff. Selects, develops, trains, and motivates D.C. staff. Responsible for all grounds, building, and equipment maintenance.
