Unit Overview: Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , caring for a diverse and complex patient population, including: Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections. Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries. Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program. High patient volume in cervical and spinal surgery, along with medical overflow cases. As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you'll have exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care. What You'll Do: Deliver and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compassionate care. Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to support optimal patient outcomes. Contribute to a positive patient experience throughout the care continuum. Why Join Us? Major Responsibilities: Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while involving families in the process. Actively coordinate discharge plans utilizing a team approach. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development. Licensure and Certification Required: Registered Nurse license from the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Education Required: Completion of an accredited Nursing program. Experience Required: Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to provide holistic and patient-focused care. Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Proficient computer skills and understanding of electronic medical records. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, and pushing. May require exposure to hazardous materials; protective clothing provided.
