POSITION SUMMARY The Nursing Manager plays a key role in delivering high-quality medical care to campers by collaborating with the medical team, providing coverage across camp settings, and responding to emergencies. This position supports both routine and acute clinical care, including medication administration, medical procedures, and on-call coverage. The Nursing Manager also assists in staff and volunteer training, orientation, and communication with camper families and outside medical providers. In addition to clinical duties, the role involves administrative responsibilities such as scheduling within the seasonal staff team, inventory management, and volunteer coordination. The Nursing Manager, in collaboration with the Nursing Director (ND) and Medical Director, ensures a medically safe and supportive environment for all Roundup River Ranch campers and staff through strong leadership, collaboration, and proactive care. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Job Responsibilities - Clinical: Collaborate with the Medical Team, Summer Staff Nurses, Medical Volunteers, and Camp Program Staff to ensure that campers are provided with the highest quality of medical and basic care needs. Provide coverage in the Depot and serve as a 'float' to assist cabin nurses/volunteers as needed in their cabins. This includes but is not limited to Medical Coverage at high-risk program areas as well as covering for nurses during breaks. Provide direct medical care and support as needed based on a cabin's medical acuity and need. Respond to Medical Emergencies and provide leadership in collaboration with ND and medical team Work with medical volunteers to provide routine and emergent clinical care to campers on-site (including distribution of meds, medical procedures, lab studies) Provide overnight on-call coverage and 24-hour backup coverage as assigned by the ND. Provide coverage for roles and responsibilities in the absence of the ND.
