The Reminiscence Supervisor is a working leader in the day to day operations directly supervising and assisting the reminiscence team, championing the designated care manager concept and providing resident care and services. Responsible for assisting in the recruiting, selection and training of team members as well as staffing and scheduling. Assists in promoting excellence in resident care and programming, assists with the outreach to families with an understanding of the evolving information on Alzheimer's disease. The Reminiscence Supervisor is responsible for assisting the community in maintaining high quality standards throughout the community.Responsibilities & QualificationsEssential DutiesAs a part of the Sunrise team, supporting our Mission, Principles of Service and Core Values is a fundamental part of this job. The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows:Supervision and LeadershipProvide supervision to the reminiscence team and support and assist the Reminiscence Coordinator and/or Resident Care Coordinator.Assist with scheduling and assigning daily tasks to the reminiscence team.Assist with staffing and scheduling according to operational and budgetary guidelines and federal, state/provincial, and local laws.Assist in daily review of timekeeping practices and payroll reports to ensure all hours worked are recorded and appropriately paid.Take an active role in Crossover meetings to remain informed; brief incoming reminiscence team regarding resident updates and community news and concerns.Maintain visibility throughout the reminiscence neighborhoods and take initiative to assist team members.Resident ServicesReview clinical alerts to document and learn about pertinent information and any resident's physical and behavioral changes.Recognize resident changes in condition and take appropriate action.Assist with the monthly family support group meetings and necessary preparations.Assist with monthly and quarterly in-house social and family events.Assist with the network contacts and relationships and provide assistance in arranging for speakers from community groups/organizations to provide educational support for families of the residents.Assist with the inventorying, tracking, and ordering of necessary resident care supplies.Resident Care and ProgramsSupervise and assist the reminiscence team as well as providing direct resident care and services.Support the leadership activities of planning, organizing, facilitating, and assisting in the overall reminiscence operations and/or directly supervises assigned reminiscence neighborhoods as directed by supervisor in accordance with federal, state/provincial, and local laws and Sunrise quality service standards.Support the all-embracing quality delivery of the Resident Centered model.Demonstrate competence and lead/assist programming with partnership of the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator for the reminiscence neighborhood(s) according to the Reminiscence Guidelines policy and Sunrise quality service standards.Assist in the designing, scheduling, and facilitating of the reminiscence programs incorporating Life Skills and focusing on creating pleasant days, including a variety of dementia appropriate activities.Review the resident's file prior to move-in and assist if appropriate in the Family Meeting, reviewing the Resident Profile and Individualized Service Plans (ISP) according to Sunrise quality service standards.Assist with developing the Daily Assignment Sheets, monitor ongoing progress for completion of tasks including hydration, and resident engagement in Life Skills programming.Assist with adding tasks to the electronic health record for the point of care documentation.Assist the Resident Care Director (RCD) with the assessment process to support the levels of care with the appropriate staffing levels.Quality Assurance and Regulatory ComplianceAssist in ensuring the community team follows all federal, state/provincial, and local laws and regulations and Sunrise quality service standards as it pertains to resident care and services.Understand essential quality service standards pertaining to resident care and services; partner with community team in striving for excellent quality care and service delivery.Assist in the development and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies in compliance with Sunrise expectations and other regulatory compliance audits.Assist in ensuring standards of cleanliness, hygiene, proper attire, and health standards are maintained at all times by the reminiscence team.Risk Management and General SafetyPartner with community team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, SDS ( Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tagout procedures.Training and Contributing to Team SuccessParticipates as a member of a team and committed to working toward team goals.Demonstrate in daily interactions with others, our Team Member Credo.Commit to serving our residents and guests through our Principles of Service.Contribute to the overall engagement programs and processes (customer and team member engagement) including participating in the team member engagement survey and engagement improvement planning workshops.Attend regular meetings;
