General Responsibilities: Surveys - Conduct property loss control surveys to evaluate the property and business interruption exposures at client facilities based on NFPA Standards and others as appropriate. Develop recommendations based on standards to include loss estimates before and after completion of the recommendations. Evaluate automatic fire protection and water supply systems. Report and evaluate building construction, occupancy, special and natural hazards. Develop loss estimates based on scenarios such as the Maximum Foreseeable Loss Provides training and peer review for other consultants; serve as a technical resource to other consultants Services provided to clients include training, manual and program development, code or regulatory interpretation. May prepare and present proposals, develop service instructions, solicit client feedback and prepare stewardship reports. Work assigned is typical of higher technical need as well as being in direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makers. Professional conduct and excellent written/verbal communication skills are required as the position requires direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers, and other decision-makers Provide project management services to include special visits, plan reviews, and oral/written presentations to clients. Travel may be up to 50% and include out of district work including overseas travel if needed Your qualifications Four Year College Degree- engineering preferred. May hold any of the following certifications or be working toward Professional Engineer License (PE), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS). 3-5 years of consulting experience in fire and property loss control Come to a sound conclusion based on information collected and the applicable standards/guidelines required.
