Diesel Technician The Diesel Technician maintains diesel equipment, completes inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, corrects vehicle deficiencies, completes adjustments and alignments, and maintains records to ensure we are able to keep our level of commitment to safety and customer service. Key Responsibilities Performs all job duties in accordance with company safety policies and regulations. Performs maintenance tasks based on driver pre and post trip inspections in a timely manner or as directed by maintenance manager. Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements and makes appropriate corrections when needed. Works in adverse conditions at times including heat, cold, wind, rain and snow to repair equipment and vehicles. Builds and assembles machines or mechanical components according to requirements. Troubleshoots reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner. Maintains all relevant records for all work and procedures and reports on issues. Performs accurate lockout/tagout procedures. Runs diagnostic tests on vehicles and analyzes the results to problem solve; test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions when necessary. Perform any and all necessary procedures to ensure maximum reliability and the safety of the equipment operator including, performing preventative maintenance inspections, tire changes, changes of breaks and any other utilities that are part of the vehicle; builds, rebuilds, and replaces hydraulic components and hoses of any vehicle or stationary equipment. Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values. Career Path Definitions & Distinctions Technician Apprentice: Demonstrates the ability to work alongside a knowledgeable Casella Waste Diesel Technician to learn and further develop skills. The Apprentice provides maintenance, repairs vehicles and equipment, and mainly focuses on preventative maintenance and maintaining the safety of all vehicles and equipment. Technician B: Demonstrates the ability to identify operating issues including examining, test driving and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment. Technician also demonstrates the ability to correct any operating issues that are found. Technician A: Demonstrates the ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle brakes, suspension, steering, tires, rims, hubs, PTO, hydraulics, engine, cooling, starting, ignition, charging, lighting systems, fuel and air intake systems, heating, ventilation, and cooling systems to ensure vehicles are in safe and dependable operating condition. Master Technician: Demonstrates the ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all vehicle and equipment systems. Can rebuild and replace engines, engine components, transmissions, drive line and rear-ends, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic components. Education, Experience & Qualifications The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, must be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid Class A, B, or C Driver's license and must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The candidate must have a minimum of 1-year experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective listening and problem-solving skills, and dedication to providing excellent customer service is desired. It is also important that the candidate has demonstrated the ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment. This position requires successful completion of pre-employment testing, including a drug screen. Job Description Job Description Position Purpose: To further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of adventure activities at the camp. Deliver adventure activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Inspect both the equipment and the site safety before and after use. Make sure all equipment is put away in a secure location when not in use. This position involves considerable teamwork and group management skills. Essential Job Functions: Deliver progressive outdoor programs to participants as described in Activity Checkpoints and through discussion with the Camp Director. Each participant must possess the physical strength and technical skills to use the equipment, and must understand the safety procedures and consequences of their actions. Ability to recognize if participants will be able to safely participate in programming, and address concerns/questions if participants need to be turned away. Evaluate the success of the outdoor program offerings and the development of the participants’ abilities and skills in adventure. Ensure that participants know and follow safety and educational procedures for each location. Assist in the implementation activities such as on-demand programming, rock wall, zip line, archery, low ropes, & boating (offerings may change from camp to camp based on availability and individual qualifications). Train other staff in their adventure responsibilities including spotting and catching. Provide on-demand or badgework programming under the direction of the Camp Director. All boating instructors must hold at least a current Small Craft Safety Certification from GSCSNJ or an equivalent certifying body. All zip line, low ropes, rock wall and programming instructors must participate in on-site training with GSCSNJ. Ability to interact with all age levels. Must pass a criminal background check. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Training and experience in teaching outdoor activities. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers. Some physical requirements could be endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, climbing a ladder or to a platform, and stretching. GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: The Residential Worker is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day function in the house. This includes securing the well-being and safety of the residents. Responsibilities also include keeping up with maintenance and repairs of the house, the vehicle, appliances, and equipment. The Residential Worker reports directly to Program Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Track unusual and major incidents Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate Responsible for being on-call Performs other related duties as assigned Providing support and guidance to the individuals in the house to ensure the following: That the house, the appliances, the vehicles and the equipment are safe, operational and in good working order. That the fundamental rights of each adult in the house are protected Residential Workers are bound by an 8 hour shift. The following are the specific duties within a job typical X-hour shift. Hours and duties may vary depending upon specific circumstances and will be handwritten and initialed into this employment agreement. Responsible for overseeing all cleaning duties by clients. Responsible for cleaning anything that have not been completed by the clients. 3pm-11pm Supervising and assisting the individuals in the house with menus, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, laundry, and other activities of daily living. Planning and coordinating appropriate leisure, social and daily living activities in the residence and in the community. This includes transporting the individuals to and from their destinations. These activities also include shopping trips and medical, dental, and mental health appointments. Assuming responsibility for the individuals in the house during the day when they are unable to attend the day program (e.g. for illness, inclement weather, etc.). The supervisor will make every effort to arrange coverage, however, the final responsibility rests on the residential staff. Meeting deadlines and completing all necessary paperwork. This includes quarterly reports, monthly reports, fire drill records, attendance records, weight charts, house receipts, daily logbook, etc. The Residential Worker shall be trained by Real House, Inc.'s APN and will carry out the duties of Medication Technician 11pm-7am During the hours of 11pm-7am, the House Manager will be offered adequate sleeping facilities by Real House, Inc. 7am-3pm (7am-9am) Responsibilities include providing assistance to the extent necessary for each of the individuals in the home to prepare for their day. That includes assisting with all personal hygiene tasks, dressing, preparing breakfast and cleaning up afterwards. (9am-3pm) During this shift the House Manager is considered "on call", however remaining on the premises is typically not necessary. Being "on call" requires that you leave information with your supervisor as to where you may be reached. QUALIFICATIONS: Required and Preferred Education and Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work with diverse populations. Good oral and written English skills. If an individual is in recovery, five-six years of sustained recovery is required. Ability to work well within a team environment. Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web-based application.
