Hybrid Work Options Unit 4 - Manistique / Escanaba POSITION SUMMARY: The Cultural Activities Coordinator, under the supervision of the Director of Culture, is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating cultural events and activities that will aid in the preservation and restoration of traditional life skills, customs, and Anishinaabe teachings. This position requires performing a wide range of administrative tasks to support effective and efficient operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to) Plans, promotes, and coordinates a variety of cultural events and activities, powwows, ceremonies, as identified by each community. Develops and implements a cultural curriculum integrating Ojibwe with various delivery methods to aid in the preservation of Anishinaabe teachings. Collaborates with the Mary Murray Cultural Camp Coordinator to plan joint events for youth involvement. Maintains a list of resource people knowledgeable in traditional Anishinaabe teachings, ceremonies, and crafts. Works with cultural advisors to select presenters for events and workshops. Encourages community involvement in cultural and educational projects. Collaborates with other departments to provide culturally relevant programming. Coordinates outreach activities to educate youth and adults within the seven-county service areas. Participates in partnerships with schools, post-secondary institutions, and organizations, including preparing and delivering presentations about cultural programs. Evaluates program effectiveness and develops ongoing projects. Ensures compliance with health, safety, and tribal policies. Prepares reports for funding agencies and government bodies as applicable. Manages budgets, expenditures, and financial reporting. Supervises and guides departmental staff, volunteers, and chaperones. Develops departmental procedures aligned with Board policies. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with grant writing and submission to secure funding for cultural education and partnerships. Maintains supplies for cultural events, camps, and ceremonies. Provides cultural guidance and answers questions from Tribal departments. Identifies resource persons to educate the community. Occasionally transports youth for cultural activities. What youll be doing Supervise the care/services provided by the Certified Nursing Assistants and other team members who care for the residents Provide nursing care of residents on the unit assuring all residents receive appropriate care. Provide safe and accurate Medication Related interventions to residents. Assess the health of residents and notify the physician of changes in status and promptly implement new orders. Develop a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care. Select and institutes appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize a residents condition and /or prevent complications. Contribute to the residents assessment (MDS/CAAs) and the development of a plan of care. Education and/or Experience for LPN: Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice with an interest in gerontological nursing. Prefer 2 years experience in a long term care setting. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a current state license to practice as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Current CPR certification Additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
