Summary The Therapeutic and Diagnostic Imaging service at the Dayton VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT). The technologist operates complex CT equipment to acquire diagnostic images of the human anatomy for medical diagnosis and treatment. Qualifications Applicants pending educational or certification/licensure completion may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Basic Requirements: U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens are unavailable, in accordance with VA policy. Certification: Must be certified in general radiologic technology by the ARRT (R). Advanced ARRT certification is required for CT, MRI, or Mammography duties performed independently. Education: Completion of a 24-month full-time post-high school radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or associate degree, accredited by JRCERT or recognized agencies. English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English as per 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d). Experience and Grade Determinations: At least one year of related experience demonstrating clinical competencies. Ability to perform complex scans independently and carry out specialized procedures, including CT. Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and ability to wear lead aprons for extended periods. Proficiency in vision and hearing is required. Duties include but are not limited to: Interpreting procedure requests and preparing patients and equipment. Verifying patient identity and explaining procedures. Positioning patients, performing scans, and evaluating image quality. Performing 3D reconstructions, troubleshooting equipment, maintaining records, and inventory management.
