Role Overview As a Nutrition Services Specialist, you will be instrumental in creating a service culture that anticipates and meets the needs of patients, visitors, and team members. Your responsibilities will include managing meal orders, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring quality assurance throughout the food service process. Key Responsibilities Obtain and process meal orders efficiently via telephone and other systems, ensuring compliance with diet orders. Serve meals professionally, assist patients with meal ordering systems, and assess their ability to participate. Coordinate tray assembly and delivery, verify meal accuracy, and maintain food quality and safety standards. Communicate effectively with dietitians, nursing units, and other departments to advocate for patient needs. Maintain accurate electronic records and assist with pantry supply orders. Prepare tube feedings and support Meals on Wheels menu planning. Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in compliance with health regulations. Education and Experience A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in nutrition services or food service within a healthcare environment is beneficial but not mandatory. Work Schedule This position is part-time, primarily covering the 2nd shift with 16 scheduled hours per week, including rotating holidays and weekends.
