Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports- Winter Seasonal Program Manager Overview / Opportunity Founded in 1991, Waterville Valley Adaptive provides over 500 lessons in year-round adaptive sports to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities at Waterville Valley Resort, Waterville Valley, NH. With over 80 dedicated volunteers WVAS’ mission is to provide people with disabilities and their families the opportunity to enjoy outdoor sports, with a focus on skiing and snowboarding. Job Summary The Winter Seasonal Program Manager is responsible for a wide range of responsibilities, including: volunteer and athlete recruitment, training, scheduling and communication, leading lessons, post-lesson reporting, database, equipment management and more. The candidate will work collaboratively with the Executive Director, working as a leader within the organization, while fostering an inclusive and welcoming community environment for WVAS students, volunteers, family and friends. Alpine skiing/snowboarding experience is a requirement; Adaptive and teaching experience is preferred. This role offers professional growth opportunities with increasing responsibility depending on performance. Qualifications PSIA Alpine and/or Adaptive Certification preferred; instruction experience required. Experience working with individuals with disabilities Leadership traits – an ability to inspire and motivate students and volunteers. Empathy and a willingness to work with students of varying abilities. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Capacity to work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage risk effectively Foster a positive, team focused work environment that motivates the WVAS community Ability to assist in the use, maintenance, and repair of adaptive equipment and facilities Areas of Responsibility Coordinate and oversee all day-to-day program operations. Managing all aspects of the volunteer and student experience, including recruitment and retention. Manage the registration process; tasks may include speaking to prospective athletes, groups, and volunteers, sending out registration information, receiving and reviewing incoming documents, and communicating in a timely manner Manage recruitment, registration, scheduling, and billing of WVAS athletes, groups and volunteers Maintain the programming software system for each program’s planning materials and documentation Manage and maintain equipment and facilities, including rentals and tickets Manage and oversee volunteer training, under the supervision of the Executive Director Oversee scheduling and communication of lessons and volunteer instructor assignments Monitor, answer, and return messages for regarding program and volunteer inquiries Oversee and provide instruction in adaptive snow sports for individuals with disabilities Coordinate and uphold risk management policies and procedures related to programs Communicate efficiently and effectively with a volunteer team of over 80 individuals Communicate efficiently and effectively with the Executive Director Be a positive and professional representative of WVAS in our community Comply with all WVAS’ policies and procedures Other duties and projects as assigned Hours This is a full time winter seasonal position. Hours dependent on program schedule; includes regular weekend and occasional evening work. Season will run approximately 11/14/2025-4/5/2026. Compensation Negotiable based on experience.
