General Medicine (5-W) Care for patients with many different conditions and disease processes. Our specialized care population are patients with Cystic Fibrosis. We also were the primary COVID unit during the height of the pandemic. General Surgery/Transplant (6-S) Care for primarily pre-op and post-op renal transplant patients as well as some patients needing to be treated for transplant rejection. We also care for surgical oncology, hepatobiliary and general surgery patients. Orthopedics (3-S) Care for patients with many different conditions and disease processes. Our specialized care population are patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. Surgical Specialty Unit (4-S) Service a wide variety of patient populations being cared by services such as General Surgery, Emergency General Surgery, Urology, Plastics and more. We see a lot of patients with surgical drains, complicated wounds, wound VAC’s, chest tubes, indwelling urinary catheters, ostomies and the occasional trach . Serve patients who have experienced stroke, seizures, traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, multiple sclerosis and more. Work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups.
