Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Serve K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired at a school located in Texico, NM. This part-time position involves working onsite for approximately 21 hours per week throughout the school year (NSY), providing essential support to visually impaired students to enhance their educational experience and accessibility. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instructional services tailored to students with visual impairments. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, families, and staff. Utilize adaptive techniques and assistive technologies to support student learning. Conduct assessments and monitor student progress to ensure effective intervention. Provide training and guidance to classroom teachers on visual impairment accommodations. Qualifications: Must hold a valid New Mexico state and Department of Education license in Teaching Visually Impaired (TVI) or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS). Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators and families.
