Greenwood Industries is looking to hire an experienced Safety Manager covering Eastern New York . The Safety Manager's responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Responsibilities & Duties: Travel to job sites to conduct detailed safety inspections Excellent working knowledge of OSHA regulations Develops and conducts employee safety and health training programs Manages project security contracts, programs, and policies Performs record keeping functions Conducts incident and injury investigations Writes detailed injury reports Completes all appropriate company safety program documents Monitors construction safety program administration Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of safety Performs other duties as required Qualifications: A clean, valid driver’s license is mandatory Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in a Safety position Degree in Safety Management preferred or relevant field Ability to conduct oneself professionally in a business setting Exhibit strong organizational, time management, and detail-oriented skills Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in PC programs, and VMS for bidding on projects and project compliance Union commercial construction experience is preferred Ability to travel to job sites over state of MA with some regional travel required Additional experience: Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, USACE standards. Ability to perform training in multiple disciplines. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with all team members. WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Relief Operator to monitor and control boilers, turbine, and auxiliary plant equipment from all areas of the facility to maintain safe, efficient and continuous plant operation. Responsibilities: Maintains safe and efficient boiler operation including maintaining productive boiler combustion, maximize generation, manage in-plant power consumption, operates facility within all applicable permits. Monitors plant operational and emissions data; detects and responds to changing conditions with regard to maximizing plant safety and efficiency. Coordinates and directs all subordinates as required. Oversees the operation of plant equipment for local monitoring for safe operation. Works with maintenance to troubleshoot problems and ascertains probable cause. Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions. Records data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load and generator balance. Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment. Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication. Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges, and cleaning or replacing burners or other components. May be required to oil and lubricate equipment. Records operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in operator's logbook. Follows standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards, and report them to the Shift Supervisor immediately. Reads, understands, and applies information such as, lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Works rotating shifts as required.
