Base pay range $200,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr Summary: Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. The Spring Valley Project is a large-scale open pit gold heap leach operation, with a >10 year mine life and a production profile in excess of 300,000 oz annually. Using 300-ton class autonomous mining haul trucks and electric hydraulic shovels, the higher-grade ore will be crushed in a 13 Mst/a three stage crushing facility with a ½” product size that is conveyed and placed on the heap leach pad with stackers, while the low-grade run-of-mine ore will be directly stacked using the mine truck fleet. The conventional heap leach pad is segregated into these two operating areas where it will be irrigated, with leach solutions collected and processed into dore bars through the ADR facility. Site infrastructure to support the operation such as haul roads, waste rock storage facilities, truck shops, water management, warehouses, offices, etc are also included in the project scope. Position Overview: The Construction Director will oversee all site-based construction activities for the Spring Valley Project, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of work performed by major contractors and service providers. This role provides leadership and technical oversight across all construction disciplines, including earthworks, civil infrastructure, mechanical, structural, and electrical works. The Construction Director is accountable for contractor performance, quality assurance, schedule adherence, and interface management between contractors and project teams. Job Responsibilities Lead daily oversight of all active contractors on site to ensure compliance with scope, safety, schedule, and quality standards. Manage field execution of civil, structural, and mechanical packages in accordance with design documents and project specifications. Coordinate daily/weekly interface meetings among contractors, engineering, HSE, and owners’ teams. Oversee field engineering, quality inspections, and work verification processes. Monitor progress and resource utilization; identify risks and implement mitigation plans. Review contractor work plans, method statements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety and compliance. Support procurement and contracting teams with input on construction means, methods, and contractor performance. Lead site readiness for owners’ team with all necessary support requirements. Lead constructability reviews during early works and pre-construction phases. Validate and recommend approval for contractor progress claims, variations, and invoices. Provide field leadership and mentoring to junior staff and construction specialists. Qualifications 15+ years of experience in mining and heavy industrial project construction management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience overseeing EPCM or contractor-managed mine development projects. Strong understanding of mining, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction disciplines. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contractors and complex site logistics. Strong working knowledge of MSHA safety regulations. Excellent communication, coordination, and conflict-resolution skills. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field experience. Proficient in construction scheduling, progress reporting, and cost tracking systems.
