Job Description Job Description The Ticketing & Sales Office takes a professional, customer-focused approach while assisting guests with planning their Chautauqua experience including informing guests of available services, providing price information for a variety of products, cash management and order processing. The Ticketing & Sales Office operations are conducted both in-person (welcome center, visitor center & performance venue kiosks) and our contact center (live chat, e-mail, call center). The hours of business vary throughout the calendar year. The pre-season (December to May) and post-season (September to November) hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The in-season hours (June to August) are 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Ticket Office is part of the Patron Experience department. About Your Compensation Compensation for this position starts at $16.50/Hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $18.75/Hour. About Your Workday Provide detailed information about services and pricing for gate passes, events, parking, class registration, and youth programs. Process sales and registrations using multiple software platforms. Includes computing prices, processing cash or credit payment and providing customer with proper sales receipt and change. Ensure accurate records of sales transactions and /or refunds in accordance with department procedures. Train in all areas of the Patron Experience department to ensure a well-rounded understanding of operations and information about Chautauqua Institution to optimize our guests’ experience. Keeps patron purchases and information confidential. Know/review all emergency procedures; responds to emergency situations in accordance with policies and procedures. It is a community newspaper distributed six days a week to subscribers by carrier and via USPS during the nine-week summer assembly season. The Daily is a 10-to-32-page broadsheet newspaper that is written, designed, and edited at Chautauqua Institution and sent to an off-site printer. The newsroom staff is multigenerational, including talented interns from universities, professional journalists, and the community members. About Your Stipend The stipend for this position is $3,700 for the summer season, June 9th to August 23rd, 2025. Also included is a traditional Chautauqua gate pass, parking pass and accommodations. About Your Learning Experience Collaborates on the design of the Daily including all front pages and section fronts. Works within InDesign, place ads and create well-designed pages from content generated by the Daily’s reporting and photography staff. About Your Work Payroll & Benefits + As directed by the Payroll & Benefits Manager and in coordination with the payroll vendor, Managed Services with UKG, perform designated tasks to support payroll processing, particularly during a high-volume seasonal payroll. Ranging from weekday OT to weekend coverage. In the absence of Warehouse Management responsible for assuring adequate working conditions, safety programs, and appropriate maintenance of equipment and supplies. Communicate necessary information requested by customers either by phone, e-mail, or other correspondence. Must be able to follow all Company procedures and directives. Must know and follow all GMP procedures. Must be able to travel to other Roberts warehouses within reason if needed. Skilled in the operation of relevant material handling equipment (ex. forklifts, stretch wrappers, etc.). Able to effectively train others in how to operate safely. Must be proficient in understanding and planning material handling activities. This includes a fundamental understanding of warehouse allocation and space utilization. Requirements High School Diploma Lean training is preferred, not required. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be proficient in basic math. Must be proficient in the Wise system and understand all necessary operations and reports. Must be efficient and accurate in data/billing entries into the system. Must achieve all necessary deadlines. Must be able to effectively communicate with customers by e-mail, phone, and other correspondence. Must be prompt and accurate in all responses. Skilled in the operation of relevant material handling equipment (ex. forklifts, stretch wrappers, etc.). Able to effectively train others in how to operate safely.
