CPP is actively searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate for this position will provide engineering support to manufacturing areas to address process, techniques and related to issues to speed up or enhance production, speed process, efficiency and safety of the production of casted parts. Additionally, the person develop and improves the manufacturing processes by studying our products, product throughput and manufacturing methods. If selected the person will i nteracts with operations and manufacturing managers and support teams to work collaboratively to achieve solutions for our success. This is an ideal position for someone seeking upward mobility into operations management. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Experience: 3-5 Years or relevant work experience in manufacturing environment. Preference to Investment Casting Experience Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: High level of mechanical aptitude, lean manufacturing knowledge, systematic problem solving or Root Cause Analysis experience. Decision Making and Problem Solving: Able to take action in solving problems with exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues. Leadership and Teamwork: Able to compete projects by facilitating effective team work and empowering employees to understand, own, and control the process. Individuals identified as dimensional will be exposed to the latest tooling concepts using 3D modeling software. Problem solving, the concepts, and tools of problem solving are essential to the job. Use problem solving tools and techniques Responsible for the construction of all dies (shrink factor analysis), gages, and support tooling needed to produce and inspect cores, wax patterns, and castings. Interface with tooling vendors and CPP purchasing to produce a quality tool/die at a competitive price. Responsible for control of dimensional quality of casting. Identify and address process yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) Strong working knowledge of GD&T Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications, blueprints, models (CAD/NX), and layout reports. Gage R&R, SPC, non-straightening processes and other cost reduction initiatives Identify, evaluate and implement new process technologies that advance manufacturing and product capabilities. Communicate with tooling vendors to design concepts for wax pattern die, the build of gate dies and support fixtures. Document work procedures and processes. Work closely with other departments to ensure organization objectives are achieved. Maintain a positive work atmosphere with respect and communicate in a professional manner. Good verbal and written communication skills at ease communicating with customer engineering groups Good verbal communications with all levels of management and manufacturing. Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures. Attendance/Reliability Ability to work at the Chittenango facility Qualifications BS in Engineering or 3-5 years of applicable experience (investment casting, tooling design, and CAD [preferably NX] experience).
