Position:Breast Ultrasound TechnologistLocation:East Setauket, NYJob Id:340# of Openings:1Breast Ultrasound TechnologistOverview:Square Care Medical Group, LLP in partnership with Unified Women’s Healthcare New York is currently seeking an experienced per diem float Ultrasound Technologist for its Breast Imaging Center. The sonographer will perform clinical breast ultrasound procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics, and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the radiologist in diagnosis. A sonographer must also possess certain values and abilities, including social perceptiveness, critical thinking, clear communication, active listening, and patient problem sensitivity. The Breast Ultrasound technologist works directly with the operations manager, the practice manager, and any other staff assigned at the locations. Square Care Medical Group is the largest women's health organization on Long Island. We offer several specialties with 70 providers across 20 locations and are a recognized leader in our industry.Job Responsibilities:Performing the ultrasound and ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctlyExplaining the ultrasound procedure to patients to avoid confusion and creating a comfortable experienceMaintaining ultrasound equipment and sterilizing the room in which the procedure takes placeEvaluating the images for quality, and interpreting what the image capturedPresenting images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare teamMaintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the ultrasound procedureWork closely with the Mammography technologists and Radiologist to ensure the capture of appropriate information and prior imaging.Review all prior images and reports before completing an examUtilize Pacs, EMR, and any other systems related to imagingMaintains all compliance standards as determined by the Medical GroupPerforms other duties as neededTraining of other technologists as neededAssists in special projectsQualifications:ARDMS registered sonographerAdvanced Breast registry or eligible and will obtain within 6 months from hire date.Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Breast SonographerExcellent communication skills both written and oralHighly organized and detail-orientedPrevious experience working in an imaging environment is highly desirable.Proficient in PACS and RIS SystemsProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelJob Type:Part-time, PRN (per-diem) Monday - FridayPay:$48.00 - $56.00 per hour**The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
