Respiratory Therapist Requirements: Associate degree from a Respiratory Therapy program. Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of Ohio Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Responsibilities for a Registered Respiratory Therapist: Provide respiratory therapy services to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Perform diagnostic tests such as spirometry, arterial blood gas analysis, and pulmonary function testing. Assess patients' respiratory status, administer treatments, and monitor their response to therapy. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
