Hours are Tuesday - Friday 3pm-11:30pm, Saturday day shift Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for performing the maintenance of equipment, tools, buildings and grounds. Responsible for snow removal during regular and off hours (as applicable). Responsible for responding to campus fire alarms and assess fire alarm systems. Assists in performing in house remodeling and renovations. Make necessary repairs for daily operation that causes minimal disruption to Caron’s Community. Be available to provide emergency and extraordinary services during unscheduled work hours as directed by your supervisor. Perform safety checks of all mechanical rooms/areas as directed by supervisor. Will be required to be on-call for 7 days on a rotating basis. May assist with patient transportation. Must possess basic computer literacy skills to include but not limited to checking e-mail and retrieval and completion of work orders as well as preventative maintenance work orders. This job description reflects management’s assignments of essential functions; it does prescribe or restrict the task that may be assigned. Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk throughout the campus. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to climb stairs and steps. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. COMPETENCIES/MEASUREMENTS: Being available to provide emergency and overtime service at times during unscheduled work hours dictated by business need. Must be flexible with schedule when given enough notice to do so. This will be measured through observation. Must be competent in assess campus fire alarm systems. This will be measured through observation. Ability to follow through with requests as directed by the Supervisor of Maintenance, Lead Maintenance Technician and/or Manager of Facilities. TRAINING & ADVANCEMENT Those entering aviation programs must first attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI, and then complete a six-week air indoctrination course at Naval Aviation Schools Command in Pensacola, FL. From there, prospective Pilots and NFOs attend primary flight training. Pilots and NFOs then request an aircraft pipeline and enter the intermediate phase of flight training, which builds upon basic flight and navigation training. The final phase is advanced naval flight training, focusing on mission specifics. After completion, Pilots and NFOs are awarded their "wings of gold" and report to their respective Fleet Replacement Squadrons (FRSs) for further training specific to their aircraft. Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance. It's also important to note that specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields. EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES Following your initial flying tour as a Navy Pilot or an NFO, you can attend the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, CA, where you may be able to earn a master's or doctoral degree while being paid full-time.
