The Fairfield Inn & Suites Virgin Zion National Park is currently searching for a remarkable Part Time General Maintenance Technician in Virgin, UT. GENERAL PURPOSE Under general supervision, assists in the maintenance, repair, refurbishment, renovation, remodeling and general upkeep in order to keep the facility functional and attractive to prospective customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Completes assigned work orders for general repair within assigned time frame in order to achieve the utmost operational efficiency of the hotel and its equipment. Performs systematic checks and inspections to aid in the upkeep of the hotel and assists in the established proactive maintenance program in order to prevent malfunctions, breakdowns and general depreciation. Immediately and courteously responds to guests needs in order to repair and/or resolve room maintenance requests and problems as they arise. Maintains tools, work spaces and equipment in safe, secure and good condition in order to reduce accidents and to prolong their use. Cuts room keys on automatic key cutter, repairs and/or changes room locks for the security of hotel and guests. Adjusts and repairs electronic problems on hotel equipment, including televisions. Assists department in maintaining safety equipment and emergency procedures for the safety of all guests and employees. Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous manner at all times. All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS Removes snow and scoops sidewalks and driveways as weather dictates for safety of guests. Contacts, by telephone or written correspondence, electrical, plumbing and elevator contractors for repair/maintenance of hotel and its equipment. Runs errands as needed, driving own or company vehicle, in order to drop off and pick up supplies, equipment and furnishings. Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel. Assist other departments as directed. Must have finger, hand and upper body dexterity to pull levers and rotate knobs, work with arms raised above head and to handle and assemble small parts using basic hand and power tools. Must have upper body strength to lift 75lbs. throughout an 8 hour shift. Must have leg strength and ability to crawl into and through small spaces, climb ladders, support and carry loads of 75lbs. Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions, communicate both verbally and in writing, utilize analytical thought processes, understand verbal/written technical and mechanical instruction, and be highly organized. Must have ability to communicate effectively and courteously with employees, guests and contractors in writing, via telephone and in person. The USVI Office of Disaster Recovery, a division of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority, has entrusted us with the critical task of managing and supporting federally funded recovery projects across the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our work will involve overseeing the reconstruction of key educational, healthcare and infrastructure projects, all of which were severely impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. We are looking for a highly collaborative Infrastructure Cross Functional Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for the management of cross functional areas in support of the infrastructure projects of this multi-billion dollar disaster recovery program. In this crucial role, you’ll oversee and optimize the flow of services and information within Jacobs and the US Virgin Islands program. Based at the client site in the US Virgin Islands, you’ll be responsible for managing and collaboration with the project teams and overall program delivery for the infrastructure sector. This will include the management of the project stakeholders, project development from conception through completion in accordance with the program objectives and coordination of infrastructure managers across all projects. You will manage, provide oversight, and facilitate resolution to complex project related challenges. An exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team working on one of the largest Disaster Recovery Programs in the United States. You will be part of an expert team working with local communities across the US Virgin Islands, supporting the Office of Disaster Recovery in building safe, resilient & thriving communities by completing key recovery projects to transform and strengthen the Territory’s infrastructure. As the Infrastructure Project Manager, you’ll play an integral role in mentoring staff, forming long-term relationships with clients, and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts. You’ll provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects while adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.
