Job Description Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join a dynamic, international firm specializing in fire safety code consulting and engineering. The company offers innovative solutions for fire protection and life safety across a wide range of sectors, including mass timber construction, commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use developments, and high-rise buildings, among others. This role provides the opportunity to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and drive business development initiatives across offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, or Seattle . Key Responsibilities: 1. Technical Leadership Lead engineering analyses and design work for fire safety and compliance. Develop performance-based and prescriptive fire protection strategies and review technical documents. Mentor and train junior engineers, providing regular feedback and guidance. 2. Business Development Maintain and grow client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage project scope, cost, and timelines. Attend marketing meetings and identify new opportunities to expand the client base. 3. Project Management Oversee small to large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and client objectives. Utilize advanced modeling tools (e.g., FDS, Pathfinder) and prepare comprehensive reports. Conduct site inspections and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure compliance and client satisfaction. 4. Organizational Development Contribute to the development of engineering standards and staff training programs. Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives to enhance business performance. Represent the company at industry events and cultivate professional networks. Qualifications Education : B.S. and M.S. in Fire Safety/Protection Engineering. Experience : Minimum 5 years in fire protection engineering consulting. Licensure : A PE license is strongly preferred, particularly in the California, Oregon or Washington state, or eligibility to obtain it. Proficiency in fire safety design principles, modeling software, and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Salary range: $130k-$180k, depending on experience and qualifications + performance bonus + sign-on bonus
