Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest as an Emergency Department Technician. This role involves providing direct patient care and supporting clinical staff in a busy emergency setting. You will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Physicians, delivering compassionate care and technical assistance to patients in urgent need. Job Summary As an Emergency Department Technician, you will perform a variety of patient care activities including CPR, vital signs monitoring, cardiac telemetry, EKG acquisition, wound care, and assisting with procedures. You will also support triage, patient transport, and personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. Your role is vital in ensuring a smooth, efficient, and caring environment for patients and their families. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C), Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program with active certification. Minimum of two years' experience in patient care, preferably in acute care, emergency departments, or as a first responder. Telemetry experience is a plus. Licenses and Certifications Current Nursing Assistant (NA-C), Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C), or EMT certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification to be obtained within six months of hire. Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain competencies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and professional demeanor. Proficiency with medical terminology and healthcare technology, including electronic medical records and telemetry systems. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively within a team. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 35 pounds, and occasional lifting over 35 pounds. Visual, hearing, and speech capabilities must be within normal range with or without corrective devices. Work Environment Work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
