Job Description Job Description Announcement # 2025-028 Issue Date: 01-29-25 Closing Date: 02-11-25 Gaming Agent (2) Two Positions Gaming Commission Enforcement Hourly Wage: $20.10/Regular/Full -Time Responsible for conducting and reporting compliance measurements on a daily basis. Most of the duties of this position requires a significant portion of the work hours to be applied to measuring compliance. Enforce applicable laws and regulations related to Class III and Class II gaming and the safety and health of people on the gaming operation. Adhere to the policies, procedures, and directives in a cooperative, respectful, and responsible manner. The gaming agent is required to maintain a professional standard of conduct compliant with the Vision and Core Values. This job requires high adaptability skills and a high degree of self-motivation. Must be at least 21 years of age, physically fit, capable of lifting 75lbs, have good vision, with corrective lenses if applicable, able to physically detail uncooperative subjects, able to successfully pass certified training (Police Reserve Academy) for a firearm, 0/C, handcuffing, expandable baton and defensive tactics for the protection of patrons and gaming operation associates and for the e safeguarding of the Nations gaming assets. Conducting and reporting compliance measurements is a daily routine. Must be able to write thorough reports and investigate incidents of gaming and law violations. Must follow directives and work well with a diverse pool of people and other enforcement agencies. This job requires strong adaptability skills. This position requires working in a smoke filled environment with moderate to high noise levels. Required constant use of extremities for walking, climbing, kneeling, grabbing, and standing is necessary. Examples of Work Performed: Monitors and enforces the following documents for compliance: YN Tribal/State Compact, Tribal Internal Control Standards, YN Ordinance and all applicable Tribal, Federal, and State laws and regulations specific to gaming. Write comprehensive, daily reports utilizing computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar software. All major incidents are immediately reported to Enforcement Management. Document and report all incidents that occur on casino property and have the ability to conduct follow-up investigations as needed; to include but not limited to field interviews with patrons and casino associates, review of financial documents, request written statements, collection of evidence, review of any appliable video coverage. Receive patron complaints and directs the patron to the appropriate officials that can resolve the complaint if a decision cannot be reached at the time the accident occurred. Maintain and update the incident summary case log and ensure accurate statistical reporting. Complete compliance checklist reviews on the various casino departments and issue Notice of Violations when warranted. Works with local Law Enforcement agencies and Courts by providing incident reports, best evidence, testifying during hearings and/or court proceedings related to gaming infractions or criminal investigations conducted by the agent. Compiles statistics for all reports, checklists and Notices of Violations and submits a detailed report at the conclusion of each month to Compliance management. Conducts paper service on casino associates on behalf of the various Gaming Commission departments. Maintain and promote strict standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Will be required to sign a Confidentiality, Code of Conduct and Oath of Office agreement. May be assigned new projects and tasks not included on the description, or to assist other Gaming Commission staff as requested by supervisor ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of use of force standards and practices. Ability to communicate effectively in regulatory hearings and a court of law. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Ability to carry out assignments discreetly, effectively and in sensitive, confidential circumstances. Must be able to work independently, be detail oriented (written and oral) and have a consistent attendance record. Knowledge and proficiency in computer use, specifically Microsoft Office products, and ID Point. Knowledge of class II and class III games and gambling devices Must have excellent organizational skills in order to work within a team-structured office environment and demonstrate the ability to be a team player with all YNGC staff. Ability to follow directives, policies, and procedures. Minimum Requirements : High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years experience in regulation and/or law enforcement required. This position requires rotating non-traditional work hours and days. Successfully pass a Police Reserve Academy within one year of hire. Understanding of standard governmental practices and policies and procedures. Have no gross misdemeanors, felonies or any charges or prosecutions of a violent nature, illegal substance abuse/possession or theft. On a yearly basis must pass a background investigation. Must pass a pre-employment background check. Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit. Required to pass other random drug tests as a condition of employment. Required to pass a pre-employment drug test. Preferred Requirements : Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
