Job Description Job Description The Production Manager is responsible for the managing the entire production department, coordinating all activities related to the remodeling of jobs sold by the Sales department, and ensuring jobs are managed from start to completion. This position is also responsible for maintaining trade contractor relationships and high customer satisfaction. 1. Team Organizer The production manager is responsible for building and supporting each project team. He or she must decide which employees would be best at specific project duties. If an employee needs further training, it is up to the production manager to see that instruction is provided to that employee. If more help is needed for a project, the production manager can look outside the company for subcontractors who can help complete the work. 2. Customer Service Representative The Production Manager will receive all customer interaction reports from Project Managers and field staff, coordinate any changes with sales and the Project manager. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the resolution of all client questions, concerns or changes. 3. Job-Cost Watchdog Bringing actual job costs into line with estimated job costs is crucial. The production manager will coordinate with sales and purchasing departments assuring materials are bought for the price estimated or for less. He or she must review all projects scope of work and budget prior to sales, and also watch labor costs for accuracy.
