The diagnostic medical sonographer performs ultrasound procedures requiring a high level of skill, competency and independent judgement. The diagnostic medical sonographer must produce and evaluate images and relate supporting clinical data to be used by the interpreting physician to render a medical diagnosis. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer must have an understanding of and be able to effectively utilize all required applications of RIS and PACS. Requirements * Must have completed a training program in ultrasound technology. * Must possess professional and effective communication skills and work compatibly with physicians, supervisors, and technologists. * Must be registered/registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in all areas of ultrasound performed. * If registry eligible successful completion of registry within 1 (one) year. * Must be adaptable to change. * Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment, if applicable. Preferred: Minimum of two years practical experience, computer experience. Position Summary: Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a Temporary - Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab Tech. The successful candidate will have an Associates degree in sonography. Must be registered in sonography and following continuing education requirements as established by ARDMS. New graduates need to demonstrate registration attempts within 6-12 months of hire. Responsibilities: Assist students in the practice of skills with instructional activities assigned by instructor. Explain procedures and functions of the lab to students and ensure safety expectations are adhered to. Provide student orientation to all lab resources. Collaborate with instructors to provide feedback regarding student progress and other concerns. Assist in the maintenance of equipment and supplies for the labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry. Assist in student recruitment and promotional activities for the program. Support student retention and success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources. Perform other duties, trainings and service to the College as assigned. Desired Qualifications (in addition to those listed in the summary above) : Minimum of two years of work experience related to the program(s) being taught. New graduates seeking employment in the field will be considered. Possession of at least one of the following concentration credentials: Abdominal OB/GYN Vascular Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.
