Sub- Custodial/Cook/Secretary JobID: 175 Position Type: Support Staff/Substitute Support Staff Date Posted: 9/23/2020 Location: Big Horn Co School District 1 Additional Information: Show/Hide Sub-Cook Qualifications: * Ability to read and communicate in English. * Accurately count, weigh, and measure. * Follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks. * Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis. * Lift a minimum of 51 pounds to 33 inches occasionally. * Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner. * Portion foods into appropriate quantities per recipe or as instructed. * Use techniques outlined in recipe or as instructed (chopping, dicing, mixing, slicing, etc.) to assist with food preparation. * Wash pots, pans, and other items using dish machine or three (3) compartment sink. * Place menu and a la carte foods on serving line and assemble the appropriate serving utensils. * Monitor temperature of food and beverage prior to service and report unsafe temperatures to manager and take appropriate corrective actions. * Serve food according to recipe portion or as instructed. * Disassemble serving line and clean serving area. * Discard or properly store left-over foods. * Assist in unpacking boxes, stocking storeroom or coolers, pulling food items from storeroom and other inventory management duties as assigned. * Perform cleaning tasks as assigned. * Remove garbage from trash receptacles and insert new bags. * Adhere to all school district and building rules and regulations. * Utilize proper hand washing techniques. * Complete other tasks as assigned. Sub-Custoidan Qualifications: * Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for the purpose of ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the building. * Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas of building according to school district standards. * Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors. * Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds. * Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills. * Removes graffiti, cleans glass areas. * Replaces light bulbs. * Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and functional rooms. * Clears snow from entrances and walks, and spreads sand and ice melting chemicals. * Performs grounds-keeping duties, clears debris and maintains grounds. * Receives deliveries and assists in unloading trucks and storing supplies. * Delivers supplies and materials to classrooms, bathrooms and other areas of the building. * Empties wastebaskets; picks up and removes trash and assists in recycling program. * Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor. Sub-Secretary Qualifications: * High school diploma * Answer phone, receive messages, and respond to inquiries by staff, parents, or patrons of the district. * File and sort paperwork. * Able to operate personal computer, laptop computer, peripheral computer equipment, photocopier, fax machine, and other office equipment with a high degree of skill. * Highly motivated with strong organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. * Self-starter; able to work independently. * Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills. * Maintain confidentiality. * Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
