Job Description Position Purpose: Senior Project Engineer - Performs & plans commissioning of mechanical systems. Must be a self-motivated & energetic professional. Must have understanding of building mechanical systems design, construction & operation. Must have experience with commissioning process of mechanical systems ranging in size, rating and complexity. The ideal candidate shall possess theoretical and practical knowledge in the commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and related controls. Candidate will be responsible for reviewing project information; executing daily field activities; maintaining project documentation; assisting the Project Manager with schedule and planning of resources, and providing guidance to Project Engineers. May perform as team lead on small to medium sized projects. Will be expected to assess and test at a high technical level. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Commission mechanical, plumbing & fire alarm and suppression equipment and related controls, primarily in data center environments. Review system designs for compliance with client facility goals. Prepare plans and procedures for execution of the commissioning process. Conduct commissioning activities from the design phase through the occupation phase, in accordance with client requirements and industry commissioning process best practices. Attend factory testing of equipment and document procedures and results. Conduct functional testing of equipment. Perform analysis of test results using instrumentation and prepare reports. Fully document all field procedures including results, issues and observations either via company provided templates or online applications. Report on system performance and make technical recommendations on issues. Work with the Project Manager and project teams to coordinate and execute field activities. Prepare and provide input on commissioning project documentation and schedules. Draft comprehensive test procedures for a variety of equipment and systems. Attend relevant project coordination and schedule meetings as necessary. May be required to lead commissioning meetings or speak on technical topics. Assist with submitting and maintaining daily commissioning reports. Train and guide both Associate Project Engineers and Project Engineers on roles & responsibilities. Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land DevelopmentTimmons Group1 day agoJob DescriptionTimmons Group is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Land Development team in our Ashburn, VA office. The Project Engineer II/III will contribute to a wide range of land development projects including K12 schools, higher education, data centers, fire stations and parks.We assist our clients with zoning entitlements, civil site plan approvals, and construction administration support. Our project engineers will typically work in a team of 2-3 design engineers and a project manager to bring our client’s vision to life. The complexity and fast paced nature of our client’s needs creates a dynamic environment for our team members and fosters a culture of teamwork, diverse training opportunities, and builds a sense of ownership in the successful outcome of the project.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Designing site layouts, grading, utilities, and stormwater systems using Civil 3D and other modeling tools.Performing engineering calculations and solving real-world design challenges.Preparing technical specifications and construction documents.Conducting research and writing objective reports to support project completion.Assisting with cost estimates and construction planning.Supporting field inspections and data collection.Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality results.Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.2+ years of experience in land development engineering, including residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.EIT certification preferred .Proficiency in Civil 3D required.Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Timmons Group is an engineering & technology firm specializing in civil, environmental, GIS, and surveying services to clients across the US.
