Job Summary
This role involves overseeing all maintenance operations, including the management of maintenance technicians, coordinating preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring minimal downtime across our foundry, machine shop, and fabrication shops. The Maintenance Manager will play a key role in ensuring that our machinery and equipment run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. This is a leadership role that requires hands‑on problem‑solving, understanding of various equipment, and strong organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision and Leadership

Manage and lead a team of maintenance technicians.

Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for the maintenance team.

Ensure proper staffing levels and schedule maintenance personnel to optimize production and reduce downtime.

Preventive Maintenance Program

Oversee the development and execution of the preventative maintenance program for the facility’s equipment, ensuring it is kept up to date and aligns with production needs.

Monitor and audit the effectiveness of preventive maintenance procedures, making adjustments as necessary to improve performance and equipment longevity.

Implement and maintain equipment performance metrics to track and report maintenance effectiveness.

Maintenance Operations

Plan, prioritize, and assign maintenance tasks, ensuring prompt response to breakdowns and critical repairs.

Manage all aspects of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance for the facility’s foundry, machine shop, and fabrication operations.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures in the performance of maintenance tasks.

Coordinate with production management to schedule equipment repairs and downtime to minimize operational disruption.

Budgeting and Procurement

Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including labor costs, parts, and supplies.

Oversee procurement of parts, tools, and equipment, working with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost‑effective purchasing.

Evaluate new maintenance technologies, tools, and processes to improve operational efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for improvements in equipment reliability, production efficiency, and cost reduction.

Lead or participate in cross‑functional teams to implement process improvements, new technologies, and equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field (preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on foundry, machine shops, or fabrication operations.

Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures and techniques related to mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of maintenance professionals.

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and preventive maintenance programs.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures, particularly in industrial environments.

Must comply with Fresno Valves & Castings’ Drug and Alcohol testing requirements.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting, twisting, and bending.

Working Conditions
This position is based in a manufacturing environment that includes heavy equipment, machinery, and potential exposure to heat, dust, and noise. The role may require working outside of regular hours in response to emergencies or critical equipment repairs.

Personal Protective Equipment and Safety
The employee must wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, respirator, hearing protection, and steel‑toed shoes at all times and consistently perform safe work practices.
