Job Description
SUMMARY: The Transportation Driver will provide the transportation of patients to and from hospitals, medical offices, dialysis centers and private residences in a safe, secure, and professional manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides a high level of customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments, and other outings. Assist with scheduling of appointments and managing said schedule Provides assistance to residents including but not limited to: Boarding and leaving the bus, Assistance with seat belts, Securing wheelchairs and walkers, Assistance with groceries and packages. Is responsible for the safety of residents at all times. Monitors resident safety on the bus, while boarding and departing the vehicle as well as the entrance and exit of buildings. Responsible for general upkeep of the vehicle. Active Illinois Driver's License required. Driver's License requirements are determined by the size of the vehicle: Class C license with a passenger endorsement for vehicles which transport 15 or more passengers. Class E license for vehicles that transport 14 or fewer passengers. • No driver under the age of twenty-five (25) or over the age of seventy-four (74) as outlined in the insurance requirements. DOT compliant physical. Annual physician's statement for drivers between the ages of seventy-one (71) to seventy-four (74) who drive vehicles which transport 15 or more passengers. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
