Location: Chittenango, NY Term: Summer 2025 (May – August) Pay: $22-$25/hr Job Type: Temporary Fulltime/Hourly (on-site)
Are you passionate about quality and eager to dive into the world of manufacturing? Consolidated Precision Products is looking for a this summer to help improve systems and processes within our operations. This internship will provide a deep dive into quality systems and allow you to work closely with our engineering teams while completing a hands-on improvement project during your tenure.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work alongside our Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing teams, providing technical support to ensure that customer quality expectations are met.
Customer Engagement: Develop relationships with both internal and external customers by quickly responding to queries and corrective action requests.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in quality initiatives and help promote excellence and teamwork across teams, contributing to process and system improvements.
Problem Solving: Identify potential issues in processes and help suggest solutions to avoid waste and redundancy.
Support Final Inspection Plans: Assist in the development and distribution of inspection plans and related documentation in a timely manner.
What We Are Looking For:
Basic Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field, with at least one to two years of coursework.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with quality systems (e.g., AS9100), Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus but not required.
Strong Communication Skills: The ability to clearly communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to think critically and independently.
Team Player: Strong teamwork skills and an eagerness to collaborate with others to achieve common goals.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with PC applications and the ability to learn new tools as needed.
Working Conditions:
Work Environment: You’ll be working in a climate-controlled office setting with occasional exposure to the shop floor.
Physical Demands: The role will involve walking and standing, with occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Travel Requirements: Minimal (less than 5%) for visits to suppliers or training events.
