Construction Engineer Department: Construction/CEI Employment Type: Full Time Location: Columbus, OH Description The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. Our talented staff of more than 450 professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions. Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Construction Engineer to assist with our projects in Columbus! Key Responsibilities Works under the supervision of a Project Engineer to assist in administering construction projects and ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications. Performs data entry into respective Construction Management Software as directed by the Project Engineer. Inspects construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with specifications, plans, and/or proposals. Correlates and analyzes field data, reviews plans and records, supports and prepares change orders, assists with dispute resolution, estimates, conducting progress meetings, preparing meeting minutes and other related duties, and finalizes or assists with finalizing and closing out the project. Regularly communicates with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure collaboration amongst project stakeholders.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program or Construction Management from an ACCE-accredited program. Prequalification as ODOT Construction Engineer Level 1 / Construction Manager is a plus. ACI Field Technician Level 1 is a plus. Ohio Aggregate Level 1 is a plus. NETTCP Soils & Aggregate Inspector is a plus. ODOT Construction Inspector Testing Certification Series is a plus.
