Analytical Chemist
Job Description
This job function provides analytical support for the determination of ligand binding to target protein using two-dimensional liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (2D-LC/MS). This analyst needs to also engage with ligand binding confirmation using Native Mass Spectrometry approach. Responsibilities:
Work directly with Pfizer senior scientist in day-to-day tasks Conduct sample preparation and assist instrument analysis/troubleshooting Assist running experiments and data acquisition Assist data processing with instrument vendor’s and Pfizer in-house software Capture data into Pfizer e-notebook and assist data archiving Help to maintain instrumentation and bioanalytical consumables inventory.
Qualifications:
BS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or relevant disciplines A minimum of 0-3+ years of experience in analytical chemistry, open to more experienced candidates with 3-5 years of experience Knowledge of separation science and/or instrument analysis particularly in LC/MS Computer literacy, and competency with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc. Fast learner of new skills and attention to details Training and experience in analytical lab with any of the following – HPLC, mass spectrometry, sample preparation/purification for either large or small molecules preferred Demonstrated scientific knowledge (e.g. GPA) and/or skills to maintain high level of performance preferred
