Department: NJMS-Emergency Medicine Overview: New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator (Residency) for the Emergency Medicine Department within NJMS. The Residency Program Coordinator, under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for assisting in the administration of the residency program as outlined in the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)/American Osteopathic Association Emergency Medicine Program Requirements. Key Duties:
Provide administrative support to the Program Director by maintaining documentation of curriculum, accreditation documents, manuals, conference handouts, manuscripts, etc. Coordinate the Emergency Medicine Residency Program by coordinating the daily operations and logistics for the program. Coordinate the ACGME/AOA Accreditation and Reporting Requirements to External Agencies/Organizations. Recruitment of Residents and Fellows by coordinating communication between applicants and program via e-mails, telephone, and written correspondence. Coordinate Appointments, Reappointments, and Termination.
Position Status: Full Time Work Arrangement: This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement. Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience; 3 years graduate medical education experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Understand the dynamics and objectives of the Emergency Medicine Residency. Effectively receives supervision/feedback from Department Administrator and Program Director.
Preferred Qualifications:
National Board for Certification of Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education Certification in Emergency Medicine is desirable, but not required.
