Temporary Position
Salary: $15.00 per hour
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum certification requirements: Must be at least 16 years old (summer camp) and 17 years old (water safety). Applicant must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and instructional experience (water safety and lifeguard). American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred but not required. Experience working with children preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Water Safety
Assists and instructs 5 th grade students with swimming skills. Teaches students how to be safe in and around the water. Supervises students in an aquatic environment.
Summer Camp
Assists with check-in and assignments. Monitors campers during snack time, swimming time, and restroom breaks. Helps set up and clean up daily camp activities. Interacts with campers during daily game time and swim time. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard.
