PHARMACY SPECIALIST
Job Description
Under direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with specific and detailed instructions, assists in the packaging, manufacturing, and distribution of drugs and supplies. Performs various non-judgmental functions in all areas of the department including ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product preparation, manufacturing and packaging, as well as provision of ambulatory services. Responsible for the procurement of inventory and inventory control. Performs other related duties and utilizes automated and computerized technology as required. WORK SCHEDULE: 1pm-9:30pm, five days per week and Saturday and Sundays on alternate weekends. EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on-the-job training. PTCB certification. This position requires knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practices and procedures. Excellent communication, customer service, and business interpersonal skills. This position requires PC, Windows, and other business or pharmacy computer system literacy.
