Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist
Locations: VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (Manhattan, Brooklyn, and St. Albans) Position Overview: We're seeking skilled radiologic technologists to provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services to our veteran population. This role combines general radiography with specialized DEXA scanning expertise. Key Responsibilities: Perform general radiographic procedures Conduct DEXA bone density scans Execute fluoroscopic examinations Process and quality check digital images Maintain radiation safety standards Document patient care and procedures Transport and position patients safely Participate in department quality assurance Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience ARRT certification (R) Current state licensure BLS certification PACS experience Digital radiography proficiency Strong patient care skills Prior healthcare system experience – preferred Experience with DEXA scanning certification – preferred Schedule & Tours of Duty: These positions require rotating shifts that include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The three standard shifts are: Morning Shift: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Afternoon Shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM Evening Shift: 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM Additional Schedule Information: Shifts include a 30-minute unpaid break Position requires flexibility to work any of the three shifts as scheduled Weekend and holiday rotation required Call coverage may be required based on department needs Schedule is posted two weeks in advance Must be able to report to any of the three VA facilities as needed: Manhattan Campus Brooklyn Campus St. Albans Community Living Center #J-18808-Ljbffr
