Job Description
The Victory Project is a faith-based, non-profit, after-school program working with Dayton area young men from ages 12 to 18 years old. Our micro-business; Victory Improvement Projects, LLC is an incubator for learning, which our students have used to discover the importance of hard work while earning a wage. Our goal is to teach more than job skills, we are building work ethic. Job Description: The VIP Site Leader will assist the Business Manager in all duties involved in our small business. He/she must be willing to carry out job responsibilities while training and mentoring our students in the aspects of their assigned projects. This is including but not limited to: Completion of projects, based upon the current and emerging business models Vehicle & equipment servicing/maintenance Proper equipment usage and safety techniques Work crew transportation Project, workload and crew planning Leadership/supervision/mentorship of students Modeling of all aspects of good and ethical behavior Instilling confidence in crew leaders, volunteers, and customers Providing for customer service and quality assurance Schedule: Part-time (approx. 16-24 hours per week) Day(s): Saturday, 7:30am - 5:00pm (adjusted based upon demand) Weekdays as needed to accomplish assigned tasks (variable and adjustable)
Summer and Winter Work program support as negotiated Days may be affected by weather or project scope Expected Tasks Include: Weekly cleaning, inspection, and preparation of all equipment prior to crew arrival Weekly inspection and preparation of vehicles and trailers prior to crew arrival All gas requirement in place prior to crew arrival Ensure food and water are in place prior to crew arrival Lead a crew and complete assigned projects, according to current and emerging business models Additionally, this leader should be able to: Develop and assign work plans for VIP work days Develop and execute the Saturday Production Meeting Maintain communication with customer base
Pay & Benefits: During 90-Day Probationary Period: $322/wk This is a salaried position: $375/wk (gross income) following the probationary period Qualifications: Have and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license and be insurable Must pass a drug screening before being hired Must complete background investigation Familiarity with small gas-engined equipment Familiarity with landscaping and light construction Additional Helpful Factors: Familiarity with woodworking equipment Familiarity with federal and local safety standards Comfortable operating multi-passenger vehicles with trailers Teachable and coachable Willingness to explore and take on additional endeavors Motivated by continued VP success and potential expansion #J-18808-Ljbffr
