MHS is hiring married couples to become flex houseparents. Flex houseparents are couples who reside in on-campus student homes, guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students. Flex houseparents provide a consistent family-like structure for students and handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc. When initially hired, flex houseparents cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home. Provide behavior consultation in the home, school, and community to address the client’s behaviors by: Completing a functional behavior assessment to determine the function of the child’s behavior. Develop an individualized treatment plan (ITP) to address the identified behavior. Direct implementation of the ITP by parents, caregivers, school staff, and treatment team (Mobile Therapists and Behavioral Health Technicians). Complete client assessments and crisis plans. Develop behavior plans. Collect and track behavioral data and update the ITP and behavior plans accordingly. Consult with treatment team members to address the behaviors of the child. Facilitate treatment team meetings as needed to address treatment needs. Maintain professional boundaries with clients and families. Provide culturally aware and competent services. Participate in individual and group supervision monthly. Complete necessary documentation on a weekly basis. Complete initial training and at least 16 hours annually.

Education and Experience: Candidates must have one of the following qualifications: Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a behavior specialist. Have a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. Have a graduate degree in ABA from a college or university. Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth, or young adults and a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling.
