A law firm seeks a dedicated and driven Associate Attorney with a focus on public sector labor, employment, and education law. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience, a strong academic background, and the ability to manage complex legal matters with precision and professionalism. This role offers opportunities to work on a variety of high-impact cases while receiving mentorship from senior attorneys. The position is based in Columbus, Ohio, and requires a candidate with a passion for public sector law and a commitment to advocacy. Duties Provide legal counsel to public sector clients on a broad range of labor, employment, and education law matters. Represent clients in litigation, including employment disputes, union negotiations, and school district matters. Draft legal documents, including contracts, policies, and correspondence. Conduct legal research on relevant case law and statutory provisions. Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and trials. Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and client solutions. Communicate with clients to provide legal updates and strategic advice. Requirements At least 1 year of experience in labor and employment law, education law, or a related field (public sector experience is a plus). Proven interest or prior experience in public sector law, particularly with government entities or educational institutions. Strong advocacy skills with the ability to represent clients effectively in litigation. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage case deadlines efficiently. A high degree of professionalism and attention to detail. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Must be admitted to practice in Ohio. Skills Strong legal research and writing abilities. Knowledge of labor laws, employment law, and education law in the public sector. Excellent negotiation skills and ability to draft clear legal documents. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
