Job Description
The Northwest Louisiana Human Services District was formed to provide local governance and direction for behavioral health and developmental disability services for individuals residing in the nine parishes of Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Webster. This position will be with the NW LA Human Services District - Minden Behavioral Health Clinic located at 502 Nella St. Minden, LA 71055. The incumbent provides recovery, relapse and prevention centered Professional Counseling Services to individuals with addictive disorders, serious and persistent mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders. These services include a broad range of evidenced based treatment and require independent clinical judgment and use of varied in-depth evidenced based treatment modalities. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Professional Counselor 1, 2, 3, or 4 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The minimum and maximum pay levels for the position is listed below:
Professional Counselor 1 - $18.38/hour minimum - $33.08/hour maximum
Professional Counselor 2 - $19.67/hour minimum - $35.40/hour maximum
Professional Counselor 3 - $21.05/hour minimum - $37.88/hour maximum
Professional Counselor 4 - $22.52/hour minimum - $40.53/hour maximum
There is also a $2.00 per hour per actual hours worked premium pay for Licensed LPC. Note regarding the advertised pay range: The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire. JOB DISTINCTIONS: Differs from the Social Service Counselor job series by presence of recognition as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern or a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern by the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners. Differs from the Professional Counselor 2 by the absence of greater independence and more complex caseloads. Obtains and prepares social histories of clients for information to be reviewed by treatment teams and for use in referrals to other agencies. Participates in the decision making process of the treatment team including formulating therapeutic activities and recommending a treatment plan. Manages a caseload by scheduling appointments, evaluating client progress in counseling sessions, and making recommendations to the treatment team. Performs intensive individual interviews with patients experiencing crises and multiple situational problems. Evaluates information in case records in order to recommend changes in psychosocial intervention. Performs goal-directed and supportive individual and group interviews with clients experiencing crises or multiple situational problems. Assists in the procurement of needs such as institutional placements, transportation, financial assistance, medical equipment, shelter, food, clothing, etc. Serves as liaison between the client, family and the agency/institution. #J-18808-Ljbffr
